LDTTWC Day 6: They sure don't make 'em like they used to!

A manicure inspired by a classic toy or game is what the participants of the Time Warp Challenge are supposed to come up with. This was one of the themes I just knew what to do for, when I read the challenge chart. Of course, this mani had to be inspired by one of my most favorite toys from my childhood: LEGO!

I know, I'm a girl and most of the girls played with Barbie & Co., but I was never much of a doll person and much more interested in the technological stuff. My sisters and I had this huge (I really mean it, huge!) box full of LEGO in all kinds of variations. We would build houses, castles, towers as high as our waist... the whole day! Later we got a couple new sets that allowed us to build futuristic looking cars and stuff, but the basic LEGO was the best!

So here's my LEGO inspired manicure~

Well, door and windows of my little house didn't turn out very pretty, but you get the idea. The little guy represents a lot of inhabitants of our LEGO cities. We could choose their hair, so I let the little guy 'bald'.

The whole thing is acrylic paint on top of two coats of an unnamed Color Club, finished with one coat of essence BTGN Top Sealer. Nothing special.

What  do you think? Did you have LEGO when you're a kid? Was it even available in your country?
